Chuck Roady Vice President & General Manager – F.H. Stoltze Land & Lumber Company, of Columbia Falls, Montana and President – Federal Forest Resource Coalition issued the following statement at the White House, at an event featuring remarks by President Donald J. Trump on the Administration’s conservation accomplishments.
“President Trump has placed more focus and gave greater attention to promoting active forest management on our national forests than any President in recent times. His and his cabinet members personal visits to witness the devastation of the forest fires in the Western US along with his understanding of the connection of the increasing fuels buildup in our forests direct impact on the intensity and increasing size of our wildfires is unprecedented.”
“The President’s clear direction to the Secretaries of Agriculture and Interior Departments to start immediate and at an increasing pace and scale to proactively managing our federal forest lands to mitigate these wildfires can’t be overstated. Those of us living, working, and recreating in the national forests of the West welcome the attention the President is paying to help protect our communities, watersheds, wildlife, clean air, and most importantly our way of life by recognizing the fact as good stewards of the land we must manage our forests or they will manage us.”
